Intellectual and literary traditions of Islam in South Asia
Sufism and Islamic philosophy 
Panjabi history and culture 
Pedagogical dimensions of art

My current research focuses on pre- and early modern Panjabi Sufi poetry. I am particularly interested in the pedagogical value of this poetry for spiritual and social healing in contemporary communities.
