Join the Contemplative Sciences Center and partners for الشفاء في الشتاء (Al-Shifā' fī'l-Shitā') / Healing in the Winter: An Evening of Sufi Music with the Al-Firdaus Ensemble. We are also holding a workshop, An Introduction to Andalusi Sufi Music, 2:00-3:15pm on the same day, February 6, 2025.
Students, the University community, and the general public are all welcome to both the workshop and the concert. The events are free and registration is not required.
About the Al Firdaus Ensemble
The Al Firdaus Ensemble is a Sufi musical group based in Granada, Spain. Founded in 2012 by the English singer Ali Keeler, the ensemble consists of musicians from England, Spain, Morocco and Venezuela.

Parking at the University of Virginia
Central Grounds Garage is the closest public parking lot to the Contemplative Commons, located directly across Emmet Street from the building. Details.
ADA Accessible Parking & Paths
Maps detailing the locations of reserved ADA spaces and accessible pathways can be found on the Facilities Management website. ADA parking spaces are first come, first served. If an ADA space is not available, vehicles with a DMV issued placard or license plate may park in a metered space for up to 4 hours.
Shuttles
Free bus service is available through University Transit Service. Gold and Silver bus lines stop in front of the Contemplative Sciences Center. On Friday, buses run every 20 minutes from 7:30 AM – 12:00 AM. On Saturday, buses run every 20-40 minutes beginning at 12:00 PM.
